Luca Manning is a Vocalist and songwriter from Glasgow, Scotland. He is inspired by an eclectic range of artists and musical styles, as well as being firmly rooted in the tradition of jazz. He turned to jazz music almost by accident, after spending his childhood chasing the dream of being a rockstar and found that the more he immersed himself in the music, the more he fell in love with it.He has played various festivals around the U.K opening for the likes of Georgie Fame and Becca Stevens and is involved in a number of projects both as a bandleader and sideman. Now based in London, Luca is in his final year on the jazz degree at the Guildhall School of Music. He has already played major London venues such as Pizza Express Jazz Club and Ronnie Scott’s leading his own ensembles and featuring as a guest with renowned singers such as Liane Carroll and Ian Shaw. He became a member of the London Vocal Project in 2018 and in the same year, became a chairholder with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra.

As well as performing in his own right, Luca is a frequently chosen collaborator and session singer. He has worked as a backing vocalist for up and coming UK artists such as Rosie Frater-Taylor and been a featured vocalist with ensembles such as Capital Orchestra and Queertet. Along with experience in studio and session work, he has also collaborated with Glasgow nu-jazz outfit corto.alto, resulting in the release of ‘unchecked’ - which was recorded remotely during the UK lockdown due to COVID-19. Luca is both comfortable recording in a studio setting and remotely using his home setup.
